Join our one time class to learn the basics of handbuilding! All participants must be at least 6 years old, and accompanied by an adult if they are younger than 10 years old.
There is a $20.00 fee if you would like to keep what you throw. We will then finish and glaze your piece with a color of your choosing, and your piece will be ready for pick up 4 weeks after your class. We will notify you when your piece is finished, and we will hold your piece for 1 month after its completion before donating it. Please note that you must clean your wheel and area thoroughly at the end of class.
The kiln is an unpredictable place, and occasionally pieces may not successfully make it through both firings intact. If this happens, we will work with you to find a fair solution. No refunds for the class will be made for pieces that do not make it through both firings.

Join our one time class to learn the basics of wheel throwing! This one-time kids class lasts 90 minutes, and we ask that you please arrive 5 minutes early. Your child must help to thoroughly clean their wheel and area at the end of class. Included in the price of this class is (1) piece for each participant to keep. Our studio will finish and glaze the piece, and it will be ready for pickup 3-4 weeks later.
Please note: Children must be at least 9 years old to sign up for the one-time kids class. Any children 8 years or younger are welcome to sign up with an adult for our Grown-Up and Me classes.

Cavin Jones is a painter, muralist, and collagist whose figurative work is inspired by American history, particularly the African American experience. Jones has said that his work is "a catalyst to stimulate thought and promote discussion about various issues prevalent in society." His dynamic compositions often feature contrasting elements that as he says, "infuse the paintings with layers of meaning and associations."
Cavin will talk about his art journey, including his public mural work. After the talk in the Art Department, we’ll visit the Print and Picture Collection to view the original drawings for Cavin’s reimagined Alice in Wonderland. Cavin will have copies of his books available for purchase.

Our one-time Grown Up & Me wheel classes are 90 minutes long. This is a great way for adults & children to learn the basics of pottery while also getting a feel for the wheel in a casual, relaxed environment.
Children must be at least 7 years old and no older than 17 years old to participate.Children younger than 7 can register for one of our Grown Up & Me (Handbuilding) classes. Registration must be made for both adult and child participants.
All tools are included for these classes.

During our courses, kids will get to learn the basics of throwing on the wheel in a safe, fun environment, while also getting to experience hand-building with clay. We will notify you when your piece is finished, and we will hold your piece for 1 month after its completion before donating it. Wills Eye Hospital will host its 17th annual Give Kids Sight Day on Saturday, October 3. This event provides access to vision care, including eye exams and eye glass prescriptions, to uninsured and underinsured children in the Greater Philadelphia area. Morven hosts Princeton 1776 Fest, an immersive event for all ages to explore life in colonial times. Along with live music all day from the Ragtime Relics and John Burkhalter of the Practitioners of Musick, visitors can join in tavern songs. Soldiers, townspeople, and historical figures (including notables like Benjamin Franklin) will interact with guests. There will be demonstrations of cidermaking and other crafts, as well as displays of historic costumes and tools and apothecary supplies from how medicine was practiced; the Princeton Battlefield Society will also unveil their diorama of the historic Battle of Princeton.
Play colonial lawn games (watch out for a goat and chickens!) and enjoy activities from community partners. Join our one time class to learn the basics of handbuilding! All participants must be at least 6 years old, and accompanied by an adult if they are younger than 10 years old.
There is a $20.00 fee if you would like to keep what you throw. We will then finish and glaze your piece with a color of your choosing, and your piece will be ready for pick up 4 weeks after your class. We will notify you when your piece is finished, and we will hold your piece for 1 month after its completion before donating it. Please note that you must clean your wheel and area thoroughly at the end of class.
The kiln is an unpredictable place, and occasionally pieces may not successfully make it through both firings intact. If this happens, we will work with you to find a fair solution. No refunds for the class will be made for pieces that do not make it through both firings.

Morgan’s Pier is bringing Oktoberfest to the Philadelphia waterfront on Saturday, October 3, from 2–6 p.m.
Guests can enjoy a four-hour open bar featuring beer and additional beverage options, including Surfside, along with unlimited soft pretzels and live music from Sometimes Why. The first 200 attendees will also receive a complimentary Morgan’s Pier stein.
Advance tickets are available for $50. A limited number of tickets may be available at the door for $60, but admission is not guaranteed, so guests are encouraged to purchase tickets in advance.
