A Glimpse Elsewhere brings together artists Elisa Abeloff and Nanci Hersh, reminiscing about the past and understanding alternative perspectives in such fleeting moments. Each artist uses gestural patterns in their work, creating an airy atmosphere and feeling of retrospection. In Elisa’s work, we see flashes of natural scenes that are borderline abstract, visualizing distant memories. Similarly, Nanci uses imagery of water and reflections to represent how our momental perspective can change over time.

Ambarien Alqadar began her filmmaking journey as an assistant to director Sabiha Sumar on sets of Silent Waters. Shaped by the experience of growing up in Jamia Nagar- a neighborhood on the margins of New Delhi, famous for its crushing lack of resources, police atrocities and delicious biryani, Ambarien works with a culturally specific lens. Ambarien lives between New Delhi and Chicago where she teaches Film Directing at The School of Cinematic Arts, DePaul University.

As the dog days of summer wind down, Silver Diner is gearing up for one last summer celebration! During our courses, kids will get to learn the basics of throwing on the wheel in a safe, fun environment, while also getting to experience hand-building with clay. In this talk, Eleanor Nairne, Keith L. and Katherine Sachs Curator of Modern and Contemporary Art and Department Head, Modern and Contemporary at the Philadelphia Museum of Art, and curator of Lee Krasner: Living Color, will trace Krasner's life and 50-year career. Focusing on the transformative final decades of Krasner's life, during which time Krasner created Untitled (1968-1983) on view in A Nation of Artists, Nairne will demystify the artist's process and tenacity in life and art.

Our multi-week children’s courses meet once a week for 1.5 hours. Our extended children’s course is 2 hours long. During our courses, kids will get to learn the basics of throwing on the wheel in a safe, fun environment, while also getting to experience hand-building with clay. This is a wonderful opportunity for your child or teen to use their imagination and create something with their hands that they can eventually take home with them.
All clay, glazes, and firings are included in our children’s courses.

This handcrafted marble will become the focal point of their finished kaleidoscope.

Cruising for K9s is thrilled to announce a community-focused fundraising event on September 12th from 12pm-4pm at the scenic Iron Works Park in Mt. Holly, New Jersey. This family-friendly gathering aims to bring the local community together for a day of unity, celebration, and support for a vital cause: raising funds for badly needed, specialized K9 vehicles.
Our four-legged officers put their lives on the line daily to keep our communities safe. However, to do their jobs effectively and safely, they require specialized transport vehicles equipped with proper climate control, safety housing, and rapid-deployment features. The current fleet is in urgent need of upgrades, and Cruising for K9s is stepping up to bridge the gap.
Attendees can look forward to a vibrant day in the park, serving as a perfect opportunity to meet the organization, learn more about the incredible work these K9 units do, and enjoy a day of community solidarity.
