“After I collect ocean water, I boil it three times,” he said. “The remaining elements change the nature and tone of my acrylics and watercolors. Owners of my paintings actually have a little bit of the Atlantic Ocean on their walls…

Philadelphia loves sports, so why not a sports-themed musical? Step into the surreal, magical world of Small Ball, where melancholy journeyman basketball player Michael Jordan (no, not that Michael Jordan) has recently started playing in the international league with the Lilliput Existers – as in Lilliput, from Gulliver’s Travels. With teammates who are only six inches tall, the team’s fortunes, and the post-game press conferences, rest on Michael’s shoulders. Small Ball is an off -beat musical delight, commissioned and co-produced by Daryl Morey, President of Basketball Operations for the Philadelphia 76ers. Directed by Co-Artistic Directors Taibi Magar and Tyler Dobrowsky. An East Coast Premiere.

Vopli Vidoplyassova
For the first time in over a decade, Ukraine’s legendary punk-folk-rock pioneers Vopli Vidoplyassova (VV) return to Philadelphia for a night of musical fire, cultural pride, and unstoppable energy.
With four decades of revolutionary music behind them, VV’s live show is a force of nature — blending punk grit, rock power, and soaring Ukrainian folk melodies into something fierce, joyful, and deeply human. This event is organized in collaboration with the Leonid Foundation, a nonprofit organization committed to advancing Ukrainian cultural life and community impact.
Expect a full concert set, an exclusive Meet & Greet with the band, and a charity auction supporting Misto Dobra (The City of Goodness) — a nonprofit organization providing shelter and care for mothers and children affected by war, trauma, and displacement.

Veterans Tribute Grows at the Ocean County Library Waretown Branch
WARETOWN – A year ago, a small photo array in the Ocean County Library Waretown Branch honored several former military members in honor of Veterans Day. Today, thanks to community members who have added to it, the display fills an entire wall and is still growing.
Branch Manager Jennifer Lennon placed the first photos before Veterans Day 2023, a gesture for family members and friends who “wore the colors.” It caught the attention of patrons, visitors and neighbors who asked if they might contribute.
“We still have people coming in and taking time to look over the pictures,” Jennifer said. “They ask if everyone is local. Some ask to be added. It makes me happy every time it happens.”
There now are 55 images of local wartime and peacetime veterans, five times the size of the original display, complete with names, branches, and theaters of operation.
“I grew up in a military family. My dad, uncle and grandfather all served. So I have always had a very healthy respect for the military and its traditions,”…

“After I collect ocean water, I boil it three times,” he said. “The remaining elements change the nature and tone of my acrylics and watercolors. Owners of my paintings actually have a little bit of the Atlantic Ocean on their walls…

Philadelphia Theatre Company presents Small Ball
