Even if you have little experience paddling, our group SUP courses are designed using ACA level one requirements, which introduce and expose beginning paddlers to the skills, equipment and knowledge that is needed to become a successful paddle boarder. Yearning for the mines? Come cave exploring with Peak Adventures! We will be exploring the caves in the Angels Camp area! Please bring at least 2-3 liters of water. The hike to the cave is 1.25 miles one way, with an elevation gain of +/- 1,000 feet. This course is designed to introduce the beginning paddler to the three most widely used recreational kayaks, correct paddling techniques, navigation and safety on Lake Natoma. The first day instruction will start with sit on top Kayaks, then move to a more technical boat called the surf ski. The second day will incorporate all of the skills in a Viking touring boat. Our ACA certified instructors create a friendly, welcoming environment for all participants regardless of age, ability or skill. Once you have completed this course, you are eligible to rent any equipment in which you have shown competence through this course.

The Holder 20 Keelboat is our largest and most stable boat with boat mainsail and jib. As with the Quest, it requires two people to rent (only one person needs to be certified.) Three to five students will be grouped for on the water training. With its larger cockpit and bench style seating the keelboat can accommodate four to six adults and is the best choice for those who want a less physically demanding boat. There is no capsize recovery required as the boat is extremely unlikely to capsize.

This competitive event is designed to bring together students with a passion for hacking and making an impact. Participants can choose one of the four tracks to build in and generate a solution to a real-world problem in the industry. The Holder 20 Keelboat is our largest and most stable boat with boat mainsail and jib. As with the Quest, it requires two people to rent (only one person needs to be certified.) Three to five students will be grouped for on the water training. With its larger cockpit and bench style seating the keelboat can accommodate four to six adults and is the best choice for those who want a less physically demanding boat. There is no capsize recovery required as the boat is extremely unlikely to capsize.

Delano Manongs: Forgotten Heroes of the United Farmworkers Movement (2014, runtime: 28 minutes) tells the story of farm labor organizer Larry Itliong and a group of Filipino farm workers who instigated one of the American farm labor movement's finest hours -- The Delano Grape Strike of 1965 that brough about the creation of the United Farm Workers Union (UFW).
While the movement is known for Cesar Chavez's leadership and is considered a Chicano movement, Filipinos played a pivotal role. Filipino labor organizer, Larry Itliong, a cigar-chomping union veteran, organized a group of 1500 Filipinos to strike against the grape growers of Delano, California, beginning a collaboration between Filipinos, Chicanos and other ethnic workers that would go on for years.
