Ridley Gallery Presents Material and Memory: Works by Muzi Li Rowe and Erin Kaczkowski

Visual and Performing Arts The Ridley Gallery is pleased to present Material and Memory: Works by Muzi Li Rowe and Erin Kaczkowski This exhibition of sculpture, photographic collage and mixed-media works explores the relationship between our interactions with technology, memory and what we choose to keep or discard. While Li Rowe memorializes discarded cell phones and other outdated technology by encasing them in resin, creating jewel- like memento mori menageries, Kaczkowski casts discarded frames in resin, which she embeds with copies of photographs,  or overexposed prints that evoke themes of memory, loss, fragmentation, and obfuscation. Visual and Performing Arts The Ridley Gallery is proud to present et al. a group exhibition featuring artwork by our part-time art faculty. Our part-time faculty demonstrates a diverse range of approaches to art making in their art practices, from the handling of materials to their philosophies regarding the creative process. Their diverse viewpoints enrich our campus community, engage our students in creative and critical dialogue and create a vibrant cohort of artists who also learn from one another. The Sierra College Art Department offers courses in a wide range of media for our students.
