Poetry in Healing: Poetry Therapy for the Mind & Soul

The Poetry in Healing group will utilize reading, listening to, and creating poetry to reduce symptoms of depression and anxiety. The group is designed to increase self-awareness, stimulate expression, release emotional tension, enhance empathy, and encourage mental growth. Research indicates that Poetry Therapy not only aids in decreasing symptoms of depression and anxiety but can also strengthen participants self-esteem and sense of personal power. Document Screening of "American Agitators"

This documentary highlights the extraordinary life of Fred Ross, Sr. and the lasting impact of his organizing work. From the real-life struggles that inspired John Steinbeck’s The Grapes of Wrath, to the shameful internment of Japanese Americans during World War II, and the founding of the CSO and farmworker unionization efforts in Delano and beyond, Ross’s story is one of resilience and justice. Poetry in Healing: Poetry Therapy for the Mind & Soul

The Poetry in Healing group will utilize reading, listening to, and creating poetry to reduce symptoms of depression and anxiety.
