Red Cross Sound the Alarm: Smoke Alarm Installation
Home fires claim seven lives every day, but you can help change that. Join the American Red Cross, for a Sound the Alarm event in Norristown. The Sound the Alarm initiative helps save lives by installing free smoke alarms and educating people about home fire safety. No prior experience is necessary; we will provide all the training you will need at the start of the event. This event will be held rain or shine.
Volunteers age 18+ can attend. Volunteers aged 16-17 can volunteer without a parent or guardian, but must have parental/guardian consent and be accompanied by an adult.
Breakfast and Lunch will be provided.

Volunteers are needed to prepare items for Penn's special neighbors through four different Helping Hands Projects at Houston Hall:
Sock Project Volunteers will stuff crew socks with personal items. The filled socks will be donated to area shelters.
Pocketbook Full of Toiletries Volunteers will create constructed bags from t-shirts and fill them with personal items. The filled pocketbooks will be donated to area shelters.
No-Sew Blankets Volunteers will tie material together to form a warm fleece blanket to be distributed to a local nursing home.
Love Letters Everyone deserves messages of love, and this project’s mission is to make that a reality. Volunteers will create artistic letters sharing a joke, poem, or inspirational quote. Letters will be distributed to residents of a local nursing home and/or shelter, underscoring the fact that EVERYONE is celebrated!
