Book Tygers
Adults
Join the Book Tygers book discussion group in reading Jeanette Walls's The Glass Castle. The Glass Castle is a remarkable memoir of resilience and redemption, and a revelatory look into a family at once deeply dysfunctional and uniquely vibrant. When sober, Jeannette’s brilliant and charismatic father captured his children’s imagination, teaching them physics, geology, and how to embrace life fearlessly. But when he drank, he was dishonest and destructive. Her mother was a free spirit who abhorred the idea of domesticity and didn’t want the responsibility of raising a family.

Coffee and Conversations
Adults
Join us as we discuss "Everything Is Tuberculosis" by John Green, a compelling and deeply human exploration of tuberculosis, its history, and the ways disease is shaped by inequality, access to healthcare, and the circumstances in which people live. Blending history, science, personal stories, and global perspectives, Green invites readers to consider the remarkable resilience of the human body, the devastating consequences of preventable illness, and the ways that medicine and society intersect.
Whether the book sparked a new interest in the history of medicine, challenged your perspective, or left you with lingering questions, all perspectives are welcome. Light refreshments will be available. Come share your insights, hear from fellow readers, and enjoy an evening of thoughtful conversation about health, history, science, and the human stories behind them.
