Transfiguration
Central
Ceramics has endured through history as a medium used to sustain us and as an instrument of self expression. The nature of clay allows the artist to mold and manipulate it to bring their ideas into our physical world - to push and pull material and transform it into something completely new. In dialogue with the weight and knowledge of all that has come before along with new innovations, today’s ceramic artists are creating work far beyond cups and bowls (but we make cups and bowls too). The ceramics community is thriving in San Antonio, and this exhibition represents only a few of the incredible artists producing work here in our city.
Featuring: Anita Becerra, Brooke Armstrong, Ed Escobedo, Mary Wuest, Michael Guerra Foerster, Michelle Hernandez, and Verena Gaudy

Transfiguration

Ceramics has endured through history as a medium used to sustain us and as an instrument of self expression. The nature of clay allows the artist to mold and manipulate it to bring their ideas into our physical world - to push and pull material and transform it into something completely new. In dialogue with the weight and knowledge of all that has come before along with new innovations, today’s ceramic artists are creating work far beyond cups and bowls (but we make cups and bowls too). The ceramics community is thriving in San Antonio, and this exhibition represents only a few of the incredible artists producing work here in our city.

The dances are frequently done in longways sets "for as many as will" (like contra) but there are also dances for 3, 4, 5 couples, some circle dances and some square dances. Pre-recorded music will be used.
