Rooted in the Latine/Xicana feminist tradition of autohistoria and inspired by the artistic lineage of poesía visiva and concrete poetry, the workshop centers visuality as an extension of language—a space where memory, emotion, and personal narrative take living form. In the year of this milestone, we are called to reflect: What does the United States semiquincentennial mean to Mexican Americans? How have Mexican Americans shaped this country, and what do we want to see for our communities in the future?
