Fall Protection Training
This course provides employees with information on procedures that must be followed and hands-on training in the application, use and limitations of fall protection equipment. Fall protection must be used when working in areas where standard guardrails or similar barriers are not already in place to prevent exposure to falls of six feet or more. Employees who, under the direction of a competent person, are required to use fall arrest and restraint equipment and systems are required to be provided this training by EHS or their supervisor.

Lab Ergonomics Class
Employees are invited to attend an upcoming Ergonomics in Laboratories presentation focused on promoting ergonomics, safety and accident prevention in the laboratories. This voluntary session will cover the fundamentals of ergonomics, including proper computer workstation setup, basic ergonomic principles and practical stretching techniques to help reduce strain and prevent injury. The presentation will also address microscope ergonomics, with guidance on maintaining proper posture during detailed lab work. Participants will gain useful, easy-to-apply strategies to support their well-being throughout the workday.

It aims to teach users the techniques to safely secure and move gas cylinders as well as the procedures for handling cryogenic liquids. Upon completing the course, attendees will be allowed to handle gas cylinders and cryogenic liquids in their labs.
