BI 301: BI and You - Defining Your Impact Identity
Participants will have defined their impact identity or have new tools to do so; Will also have a perspective to work from to adjust their impact identity over time.
Participants will begin to define their own impact identity to simultaneously align proposed BI activities with their individual research interests, personal strengths, institutional and network assets, and personal values. Using your impact identity to build BI activities into proposals is an opportunity to transform the required BI section from a mystery or burden into an opportunity to truly enjoy this aspect of writing an NSF proposal.

Faculty Success Seminar – One-Page Genius: Mastering the Art of Presenting a Research Proposal Idea in Just One Page
Proposal reviewers often turn to the first page of a project narrative before reading anything else. They will have an expectation of coming away with a clear understanding of what the PI plans to do, why it’s important and how the work will be accomplished. Ultimately, they will build initial impressions by the end of the page. Therefore, it is imperative for this page to be easy to read, meet reviewers’ expectations and pique their curiosity and interest. This Faculty Success Seminar will share best practices used in crafting a compelling one-page overview and give attendees a writing tool that RFD developed called One-Page Genius. This step-by-step process guides grant-seeking faculty to clearly and logically present the core elements of a project idea on a single page.
