Responding to Disclosures of Interpersonal Violence

Violence Prevention and Education will lead attendees through a 90-minute training Zoom session on handling disclosures of interpersonal violence from students. Participants will gain understanding of obligations as a university employee, increase knowledge of barriers students may face regarding these issues, knowledge of resources and referrals and after-the-fact self-care. Pre-registration is required and available via Bridge. This training is part of Katy Benoit Campus Safety Month, which is a month dedicated to promoting safety, raising awareness and empowering individuals, in memory of U of I student Katy Benoit. Color Campus Resilient: Color Run

Walk, run or stride with Vandal Health Education at the first annual Color Campus Resilient Color Run as part of Suicide Prevention Awareness Month. Run through campus resource color stations and prepare to get colorful! Participants are encouraged to wear white along the 1.5 mile route. Color run route begins at the Student Rec Center Lawn. QPR Suicide Prevention Training

QPR stands for Question, Persuade and Refer. Join Vandal Health Education for this evidenced-based, 1.5 hour training program to help faculty, staff and students recognize and respond to someone who may be in a mental health crisis and thinking about suicide. Participants will learn how to: recognize the warning signs of suicide, offer hope, and get help and save a life. Part of the Connect Well Designation. This training will be held via Zoom.
