Architecture Guest Lecture - Maurizio Sabini

The Architecture department would like to invite students to their upcoming guest lecture, organized within this year's series "Forms of Practices" is scheduled for Friday 11/6 at 3:30 PM Pacific Time, Renfrew Hall 111. Maurizio Sabini is a Professor of Architecture at Drury University and the Editor-in-Chief of "The Plan Journal." His latest main publication is Ernesto Nathan Rogers: The Modern Architect as Public Intellectual (2021). He will talk about the theme of the "architect-intellectual," and two projects as they pertain to the theme and the context of the American Northwest. 2026 Architecture Asia Program Exhibition Reception

This summer, 11 architecture and interior architecture students spent a month exploring architecture, urbanism, and culture in Singapore, Kuala Lumpur, and Penang. The exhibition showcases their experiences, discoveries, and creative reflections from this exciting study abroad journey. Papermaking with the Palouse

Papermaking with the Palouse 2026, hosted by Austin Wetzel and Lauren McCleary and featuring special guest Lonnie Hutson, invites you to register and start or expand your papermaking and paper art practice. Registration is open to the University of Idaho community and residents of the Palouse ecological region. In UI's papermaking workshop hosted by Austin Wetzel and Lauren McCleary, presentations, discussions, and demonstrations will deepen knowledge, and participants will have the opportunity to blend, pull, and prepare sheets for drying. Using our paper-beater sourced from Jim Croft's practice, we will prepare cotton and cattail pulp to create paper sheets. Participants can take home prepared sheets as gifts for attending. After the papermaking demonstration, artist Lonnie Hutson will present and demonstrate how to use paper pulp to create relief sculptures.
