Cabaret- Weber State University

Arts & Culture April 3, 4 & 8-11 at 7:30 p.m. and April 11 at 2 p.m. ASL Interpreted Performance Apr. 9 Book by Joe Masteroff | Based on the Play by John Van Druten and stories by Christopher Isherwood | Music by John Kander | Lyrics by Fred Ebb Set against the backdrop of a changing Berlin in 1931, Cabaret follows the vibrant world of the Kit Kat Club, where performers dazzle and life feels carefree—at least on the surface. Utah Symphony Prokofiev’s Piano Concerto No. 3

Arts & Culture An audience favorite and the most beloved of Prokofiev’s five piano concertos, Piano Concerto No. 3 stands out in kaleidoscopic brilliance. Described as “devilishly difficult” by the composer himself, No. 3 unfolds like a lively dialogue – or a boxing match – between orchestra and piano. The equally matched contenders come out swinging, trading blustery blows and witty jabs until the frenetic finale. The evening evolves as your Utah Symphony illuminates Elgar’s “passionate pilgrimage of the soul” in Symphony No. 2. Dedicated to the late King Edward VII in 1911, Elgar’s deeply personal and introspective symphony starts off triumphantly before revealing layers of underlying conflict. Discover decadent melodies and startling depth in this night devoted to early 20th century treasures. Arts & Culture Categories: * PERFORMING ARTS. Entertainment. Symphony. Audience: Teens. Adults.
