What lurks beneath a pond’s surface? Maybe a slimy snail, or a tiny tadpole? Join the Ogden Nature Center as we learn about all the tiny creatures that live within pond ecosystems. Use a net to explore for yourself what wonderful wildlife live beneath the water.
Class begins promptly at 3:45. This 20 minute program led by a teacher/naturalist may be followed by free time on your own to further explore the Nature Center grounds. Please note that the trails and Visitor Center close by 5pm.

Join performance artist Deja Mitchell against the beautiful backdrop of Ogden Nature Center as she teaches the basics of African drumming. This class is designed to improve the health, wellbeing, and socialization of people 55 and older. Participants will learn the basics of djembe drum technique. The class series culminates in a performance for friends and family. No prior experience is needed. Participants do not need to bring anything with them, but should dress comfortably to allow free movement. Classes are progressive, so attending every class is recommended. Help restore native habitats. Join us every week to manually remove invasive species on the property. Invasive weeds crowd out native species and impair the habitat. Volunteers should be able to walk over uneven ground, bend over for extended periods, work outdoors in a variety of conditions, and comply with the safety guidelines. Volunteers should wear closed-toe sturdy shoes, pants, hat, and sun protection. Bring plenty of water and snacks if needed. Work gloves, shovels, and trowels will be available to borrow but we encourage you to bring your own. Ages 16 and over.
When: Fridays 8-10 AM

Honor & Remember Utah's Fallen Service Members Boot Display

Operation Hero is a non-profit 501-c3 organization (Tax ID #47-5167502) that continues the legacy of 1SG Tracy Stapley, who died July 3, 2013, on deployment in Qatar. We have 3 pillars with our organization: 1) giving back to Gold & Blue Star Families, single Service Member here in Utah and Nationwide, 2) educating current Service Members and their families about the importance of being prepared for the unexpected and 3) honoring Utah’s Fallen Service Members with a boot display (375+) to honor each one who has died while actively serving since 9/11.
Our annual Honor and Remember Utah’s Fallen Service Members boot display event will be held over Memorial Day weekend in May of 2025 at Union Station Ogden, Utah. A very meaningful event as we raise awareness within our community about the service members who have paid the ultimate sacrifice in support of our country and the true meaning of Memorial Day.

Davis, and Joel Murray will leave you gasping with the very witty scenes they invent before your eyes. Audience participation is key to the show so bring your suggestions and you might be asked to join the cast onstage! WHOSE LIVE ANYWAY? showcases some of the improv games made famous on the long-running TV show as well as some exciting new ones, featuring musical direction by Bob Derkach.

Join performance artist Deja Mitchell against the beautiful backdrop of Ogden Nature Center as she teaches the basics of African drumming. This class is designed to improve the health, wellbeing, and socialization of people 55 and older. Participants will learn the basics of djembe drum technique. The class series culminates in a performance for friends and family. No prior experience is needed. Participants do not need to bring anything with them, but should dress comfortably to allow free movement. Classes are progressive, so attending every class is recommended. Help restore native habitats. Join us every week to manually remove invasive species on the property. Invasive weeds crowd out native species and impair the habitat. Volunteers should be able to walk over uneven ground, bend over for extended periods, work outdoors in a variety of conditions, and comply with the safety guidelines. Volunteers should wear closed-toe sturdy shoes, pants, hat, and sun protection. Bring plenty of water and snacks if needed. Guided by an ONC naturalist and in the company of fellow bird nerds, take a tour through 1.5 miles of walking trails meandering through the Nature Center. Learn about different species that migrate in and out of our region seasonally. The series will take you from winter through spring migration. Air Plant Terrarium Class
What:
Come and learn why everyone loves Air Plants. They are an amazing tropical plant which are easy to keep alive, versatile and need very little care.
This hands on class will walk you through creating your own air plant arrangement in a terrarium (a variety of glass containers will be available to pick from). Everyone in the class will receive one air plant and other items to make their own original designs (moss, flowers, animals, shells etc). You will also learn some easy tips to care for your new air plant arrangement.

Community
Help restore native habitats. Join us every week to manually remove invasive species on the property. Invasive weeds crowd out native species and impair the habitat. Volunteers should be able to walk over uneven ground, bend over for extended periods, work outdoors in a variety of conditions, and comply with the safety guidelines. Volunteers should wear closed-toe sturdy shoes, pants, hat, and sun protection. Bring plenty of water and snacks if needed. Work gloves, shovels, and trowels will be available to borrow but we encourage you to bring your own. Ages 16 and over.

Help restore native habitats. Join us every week to manually remove invasive species on the property. Invasive weeds crowd out native species and impair the habitat. Volunteers should be able to walk over uneven ground, bend over for extended periods, work outdoors in a variety of conditions, and comply with the safety guidelines. Volunteers should wear closed-toe sturdy shoes, pants, hat, and sun protection. Bring plenty of water and snacks if needed. Work gloves, shovels, and trowels will be available to borrow but we encourage you to bring your own. Ages 16 and over.

Marbling art is a fun and unique way to explore your creativity and create beautiful, one-of-a-kind designs. Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced artist, a marbling art class is a great way to learn new skills, and have fun. So why not give it a try and see where your creativity takes you?

Help restore native habitats. Join us every week to manually remove invasive species on the property. Invasive weeds crowd out native species and impair the habitat. Volunteers should be able to walk over uneven ground, bend over for extended periods, work outdoors in a variety of conditions, and comply with the safety guidelines. Volunteers should wear closed-toe sturdy shoes, pants, hat, and sun protection. Bring plenty of water and snacks if needed. Work gloves, shovels, and trowels will be available to borrow but we encourage you to bring your own. Ages 16 and over.

Help restore native habitats. Join us every week to manually remove invasive species on the property. Invasive weeds crowd out native species and impair the habitat. Volunteers should be able to walk over uneven ground, bend over for extended periods, work outdoors in a variety of conditions, and comply with the safety guidelines. Volunteers should wear closed-toe sturdy shoes, pants, hat, and sun protection. Bring plenty of water and snacks if needed. Work gloves, shovels, and trowels will be available to borrow but we encourage you to bring your own. Ages 16 and over.
