Drumming in Nature
Community Classes in Nature
Join performance artist Deja Mitchell against the beautiful backdrop of Ogden Nature Center as she teaches the basics of African drumming. This class is designed to improve the health, wellbeing, and socialization of people 55 and older. Participants will learn the basics of djembe drum technique. The class series culminates in a performance for friends and family. No prior experience is needed. Participants do not need to bring anything with them, but should dress comfortably to allow free movement. Classes are progressive, so attending every class is recommended. Help restore native habitats. Join us every week to manually remove invasive species on the property. Invasive weeds crowd out native species and impair the habitat.
Volunteers should be able to walk over uneven ground, bend over for extended periods, work outdoors in a variety of conditions, and comply with the safety guidelines. Volunteers should wear closed-toe sturdy shoes, pants, hat, and sun protection. Bring plenty of water and snacks if needed. Ages 16 and over.
When: Fridays 8-10 AM

Artist Factory First Friday: Collage with Andrew Shaw
Arts & Culture
Join local artist Andrew Shaw for a collage workshop exploring “single-page re-compositions.”
In this process, participants will start with a single magazine page, tear the image into smaller pieces, and rearrange them to create a completely new composition.
No cutting tools are needed. Instead, we’ll focus on tearing, layering, and gluing the pieces onto a new design, transforming the original image into a unique work of art.
This FREE workshop is open to the public, with a $20 suggested donation.
All ages are welcome, and the workshop is family friendly. You’re invited to drop in anytime between 6–9 PM, and you don’t need to stay the entire time.
All materials are provided, and parking will be validated at OCA.

Live horse races for quarter horses of all ages. Horseman from California, Utah, Wyoming, Nevada, Colorado, New Mexico, and Arizona come to Utah to compete in the many different races that are held. Watch them being saddled, ponied to the gate and watch them race out of the gates to the finish line!

Fly with the Flock Fun Run at Ogden Nature Center

Runners and families are invited to enjoy a casual, fun, trail run and pancakes at the Ogden Nature Center.
The 5K course is two laps winding through 152 acres on dirt trails. The youngest runners can participate in a free, 100-foot kids dash with tree-cookie medals for every child who participates.
Runner packets may be picked up on May 8th from 11 am until 4 pm.
Day of registration starts at 6:30am. Race starts at 8:00am.
Please note that walkers will not be timed for medals, but are welcome and encouraged to participate. A pancake breakfast, awards, prizes, and kids' activities will follow the race on the back lawn of the Visitor Center.

Join performance artist Deja Mitchell against the beautiful backdrop of Ogden Nature Center as she teaches the basics of African drumming. This class is designed to improve the health, wellbeing, and socialization of people 55 and older. Participants will learn the basics of djembe drum technique. The class series culminates in a performance for friends and family. No prior experience is needed. Participants do not need to bring anything with them, but should dress comfortably to allow free movement. Classes are progressive, so attending every class is recommended. Help restore native habitats. Join us every week to manually remove invasive species on the property. Invasive weeds crowd out native species and impair the habitat.
Volunteers should be able to walk over uneven ground, bend over for extended periods, work outdoors in a variety of conditions, and comply with the safety guidelines. Volunteers should wear closed-toe sturdy shoes, pants, hat, and sun protection. Bring plenty of water and snacks if needed. Ages 16 and over.

Volunteers should be able to walk over uneven ground, bend over for extended periods, work outdoors in a variety of conditions, and comply with the safety guidelines. Volunteers should wear closed-toe sturdy shoes, pants, hat, and sun protection. Bring plenty of water and snacks if needed. Ages 16 and over.

Birding at Ogden Nature Center
Join us for a beginner-friendly Birding 101 class followed by a guided community bird walk. We will start indoors with an interactive lesson covering birding basics, what to look and listen for, and how to use binoculars.
After the class, all participants are invited to join a guided bird walk led by Wasatch Audubon, exploring Ogden Nature Center with a special focus on the Wasatch Audubon bird feeders. Whether you are brand new to birding or have years of experience, everyone is welcome.

The Ogden Music Festival is our signature event that brings together friends and fans of acoustic music from Ogden and beyond, and is the perfect way to start your summer on a high note, whether it's high, lonesome bluegrass or some hot licks on the fiddle. We couldn't be more excited for 2026!
Working together with the hundreds of artists, vendors, volunteers, sponsors, and logistical teams, it's our collective dream to promote and celebrate Ogden's arts, culture, and natural beauty with residents and visitors, alike. Kids, 16 and younger, are invited to attend the festival for free, with the hope that their experience with live, traditional music performed in an outdoor setting will inspire this next generation to keep these traditions alive. Historic 25th Street Car Show

The Historic 25th Street Car Show returns to downtown Ogden on Friday, June 5, from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. filling Historic 25th Street with hundreds of vehicles and thousands of visitors for one of Northern Utah's largest annual car shows.
Produced by the Ogden Downtown Alliance, this annual event stretches three blocks of Historic 25th Street into a car show featuring more than 300 classic, custom, vintage, and modern vehicles. The relaxed, open-format show allows visitors to stroll the street, meet vehicle owners, and learn about the stories behind their cars while enjoying a night in downtown Ogden.
Throughout the evening, visitors can enjoy food trucks, sponsor booths, and community activities while exploring the many restaurants and businesses along Historic 25th Street. The event also takes place alongside Ogden's First Friday Art Stroll, giving guests the chance to visit downtown galleries, shops, and studios that stay open later.

Bournonville

The purest ballet scene in all of Bournonville’s works, that is how one could describe the divertissement The Dancing School of the ballet Le Konservatoriet. Here, it is the dance itself that is the point of the story. By creating a plot that sets off in a dance studio, Bournonville has made it possible to show off his delicate and very demanding exercises in their most purified form on stage.
It is not just any dance studio but a dance studio at the Conservatoire in Paris. Bournonville knew these ballet classes from his own youth in the 1820’s where he studied at the Conservatoire with the renowned Auguste Vestris as one of his teachers. Creating the ballet of Le Konservatoriet – or a Marriage by Advertisement for the Royal Danish Ballet in 1849, Bournonville assembled his youth memories in a cheerful and harmless vaudeville ballet.

Birding 101
Birding at Ogden Nature Center
Join us for a beginner-friendly Birding 101 class followed by a guided community bird walk. We will start indoors with an interactive lesson covering birding basics, what to look and listen for, and how to use binoculars.
After the class, all participants are invited to join a guided bird walk led by Wasatch Audubon, exploring Ogden Nature Center with a special focus on the Wasatch Audubon bird feeders. Whether you are brand new to birding or have years of experience, everyone is welcome.
Date: 4th Saturday of each month, excluding April, November, and December

Help restore native habitats. Join us every week to manually remove invasive species on the property. Invasive weeds crowd out native species and impair the habitat.
Volunteers should be able to walk over uneven ground, bend over for extended periods, work outdoors in a variety of conditions, and comply with the safety guidelines. Volunteers should wear closed-toe sturdy shoes, pants, hat, and sun protection. Bring plenty of water and snacks if needed. Ages 16 and over.
