Great adventures start with smart planning. Whether you're prepping for a weekend hike, a multi-day backpacking trip, or your first group expedition, this 2-hour clinic will give you the tools and strategies to plan outdoor adventures that are safe, efficient, and unforgettable. This interactive clinic is ideal for beginners, aspiring adventurers, or anyone looking to take the stress out of trip logistics.
Clinic participants will leave the clinic with an understanding of the following:
- How to choose a destination based on group goals, skill level, and season
- Building a realistic itinerary and estimating travel times
- Creating gear lists based on terrain and conditions
- Food and water planning for day and multi-day trips
- Understanding permits, land regulations, and Leave No Trace ethics-Identifying potential hazards and planning for contingencies-Weather considerations and emergency planning.
This clinic will take place at The Hub classroom in the Student Life Center (just outside of OA) at 6:00PM.
