"Data and AI for Power Grid Resilience to Extreme Weather Events" Many communities across the world are experiencing more frequent and severe extreme weather disturbances such as wildfires, heatwaves, drought, storms, rising sea levels, and flooding, which not only pose threats to human health, and the environment but also affect the ability of the power grid to continue powering the communities. This requires upgrading the operation of power grid from passive and manual applications to making complex decisions in real-time tofacilitate the automated recovery of the system after major disturbances. This talk will review the application of various AI and ML techniques for detection, response and mitigation of cyber anomalies and extreme weather events in power distribution systems. The confluence of Artificial Intelligence and Brain Computer Interface: an inflection point enabling next generation multi-modal decoding of higher order intention The talk will briefly review the last decade of advances and world first’s in Brain Computer Interfaces in human subjects, identify and discuss the core hardware and software challenges that limit widespread use and provide an outlook into a 30 year roadmap of where these technologies could go. The talk will discuss recent materials, hardware and software advances, e.g. in the building of foundational models for the brain including their interfaces to Vision Language Action Models VLAMs as e.g. used in advanced robotics and the enabling hardware and materials advances that power them.
