Voices of Utah Student Showcase
This semester, student journalists in COMM 5775 immersed themselves in documenting the creative communities shaping our state. From muralists transforming Salt Lake City’s streets to dancers pushing contemporary boundaries and the business of drag performance to curators building AI exhibitions, they illuminated the artists, institutions and movements that define Utah's cultural identity.
In partnership between the University of Utah's Department of Communication and local media organizations, students in the Voices of Utah capstone course worked with nonprofit Amplify Utah, Salt Lake magazine and KRCL 90.9 to report, publish and air original journalism that better informs and engages the public about arts and culture. Their stories brought these narratives to life through in-depth reporting, profiles and event coverage – bridging classroom learning with professional journalism practice across print, digital and audio platforms.
Please celebrate their hard work with us during a special showcase.
