2026 Business Speed Pitch Competition
The Rise & Thrive Business Pitch Competition is an annual event organized by Uintah County Economic Development and the Vernal Innovation Hub to provide entrepreneurs and business start-ups with funding opportunities and local support.
The competition allows entrepreneurs to present business ideas to a panel of 5 judges. The competition focuses on the ability to deliver a Pitch that attempts to persuade the judges in favor of a new product or service. Judges will engage with contestants and score each Contestant(s) based on the pitch presentation and follow up Q/A. Judge assessments are based on the realistic development of a product or service. This includes: Market Needs, Solutions/Value Proposition, Target Market/Research, Deliverables and Use of Prize Package.

MUC Connect featuring Judson Finley
Museum of Uintah County hosts MUC Connect on the third Thursday of each month. The next MUC Connect will be March 19, 2026 at 6:00pm. Judson Finley will be sharing insights from the Leo C. Thorne Collection. The collection is among the most unique assemblages of Native American archaeological objects that has been a centerpiece of Vernal culture for nearly a century. Understanding where the artifacts originated from now requires returning to the early years of settlement in the Vernal area, which is possible through a rich archive of photographs, field notes, correspondence, and other sources held in the Uintah County Regional History Center. Join us as we discuss ongoing studies of the Thorne Collection and what it reveals about Native American life in the Basin more than a 1,000 years ago.

Challenge yourself in the High Desert of Northeast Utah to hunt down targets in this desert climate and enjoy the views of Blue Mountain, Diamond Mountain, and the High Uintah Mountains that surround this area. Be sure to take a trip to the Dinosaur Museum and Dinosaur National Monument because this is what this area is known for.This hunter match will have a lot of sage brush terrain around stage areas and targets with a limited number of cedars be sure to look in all the drainages as this range has a lot of them. Be sure to bring good boots for the May weather. It can be cold and sometimes a little muddy.
