Urban Wildlife Monitoring

Service-Learning "Become a Citizen Scientist! You can help balance human and wildlife needs by tracking and photographing animals in Mukilteo and Woodinville. The objective is to document several animal species for local agencies interested in wildlife activities. Guided by field technician Grace, you will learn to use traditional ecological knowledge to recognize track and sign of animals in urban environments, as well as set motion-sensitive camera traps to photograph these animals. This information will help City of Mukilteo, Snohomish County Airport, and Snohomish County Public Works Environmental Services to better understand how urban wildlife utilize the monitored areas. **It is important that students signing up for this event dress accordingly, most importantly wearing waterproof footwear. This is important to ensure all participants have a safe and comfortable day. We will meet by the van at the northwest corner of Meadowdale Hall.". Type of Event: Service-Learning.
