Pine Ridge Park Restoration

Service-Learning Join Edmonds Forest Stewards and other community volunteers once a month, rain or shine, for a morning of service at Pine Ridge Park! Make a difference by removing english ivy, Japanese Honeysuckle and other invasive weeds, and spend time in the beautiful outdoors. Edmonds Stewards will meet at the parking lot located 83rd ave W entrance. Jesse, Kelsey, and, Carolyn are the Lead Stewards who typically lead these events. Hutt Park Habitat Restoration

Service-Learning Join Edmonds Forest Stewards and other community volunteers, rain or shine, for day of service at Hutt Park! Make a difference by removing english ivy and other invasive weeds, and spend time in the last old-growth forest in Edmonds. Hutt Park has 4.5 acres of forest and trails which are maintained by the City of Edmonds and local volunteers. Located in the Seaview neighborhood off of 187th Street SW in Edmonds, this beautiful site has transformed thanks to the incredible work and vision of our volunteers & City of Edmonds staff. Water Quality Monitoring at Shell Creek

Service-Learning Want to get outside and put chemicals in some test tubes with water, or make sure that the water is safe for humans and salmon populations? Well you have come to the right place! Down at Yost Park we will be monitoring the water quality at the nearby Shell Creek in Edmonds, it's super close, doesn't take long, and the data we collect can be a major help to local salmon health and longevity. Band Festival Field Ops

Service-Learning Edmonds College students can learn the operations of a large regional band competition as they help move bands through and around a large school campus and onto the field for competition. Each of the nine large bands will rehearse and move to the field to be ejudicated by music professionals from around the country.  Be a part of this full day of extravagant musical excitement and competition. Service-Learning Looking for a cultural experience? Join us for Native Gift Making. In this workshop you will experience Native American crafts making, taught by local Snohomish tribal elders Mike Evans and Karen Condo. Learn the Blue Heron Canoe Family way of "make two gift one" towards Canoe Journey and hear teachings of modern and traditional ways of native beings.  -- Don't know what those things are? We are just the space for you. In the process you will experience first hand the benefits of crafting: Lowers blood pressure. Confidence and enhanced self-esteem. Increases brain activity and cognition. Enhances quality of life. Small exercises can help dexterity. Boosts empathy.  Allows further self expression and understanding. Water Quality Monitoring at Shell Creek

Service-Learning Want to get outside and put chemicals in some test tubes with water, or make sure that the water is safe for humans and salmon populations? Well you have come to the right place! Down at Yost Park we will be monitoring the water quality at the nearby Shell Creek in Edmonds, it's super close, doesn't take long, and the data we collect can be a major help to local salmon health and longevity. Native Gift Making

Service-Learning Looking for a cultural experience? Join us for Native Gift Making. In this workshop you will experience Native American crafting, taught by local Snohomish tribal elders Mike Evans and Karen Condo. Learn the Blue Heron Canoe Family way of "make two gift one" towards Canoe Journey and hear teachings of modern and traditional ways of native beings.  -- Don't know what those things are? We are just the space for you. In the process you will experience first hand the benefits of crafting: Lowers blood pressure. Confidence and enhanced self-esteem. Increases brain activity and cognition. Enhances quality of life. Small exercises can help dexterity. Boosts empathy.  Allows further self expression and understanding. Lend a Helping PAW

Service-Learning Do you love animals but don't have the experience or training to work with them yet? Or do you just like giving back and want to be outside? If you answered "yes" to either of these rhetorical questions then you are in luck! There is an opportunity here to help out PAWS, an animal rehabilitation center that cares for cats, dogs, and wild animals. Our job is to help maintain their outside areas by weeding, mulching, or even painting and constructing things for them. This is a 3 hour time commitment so wear comfortable clothing, bring water, and a good attitude! Vanpool will be provided for those who require it.
