Volunteer at Edmonds Food Bank

Service-Learning FLEXIBLE HOURS 9am-2pm is the window of time available. One hour, 90 minutes, 203 minutes, amount of time you volunteer is up to you.  Help our community by volunteering as a "shopper" putting together orders for families in need.  The food bank is overwhelmed with orders to fill.  Families order on-line their list of food needs, and you take the easy-to-follow list, gather the items together, place in a shopping cart, then start again with a new list.   Improve your English reading skills while serving families in need. Learn how large-scale foodbank operations work.  Receive Service Learning hours. Stay for as long or as little as your schedule permits.  Driving opportunities are available for those 21+ with a valid WA State drivers License, see their website for more details.   Every other Tuesday the need for volunteers is CRITICAL as those are their busiest days. Service Learning: Salmon Release @ Hall Lake

Service-Learning You’re invited to a program at the Hall Lake Fish Hatchery & Environmental Education Center, Guests will get a tour of the hatchery facility, a presentation about salmon and storm water, and a chance to release fish into the lake to begin their journey to the Pacific Ocean.  There will be time for questions and a tour around the property.  Come support the city of Lynnwood's Public Works department in releasing juvenile Coho salmon into Hall Lake while earning Service Learning credit! Service-Learning Earth Day is one of Edmonds College's largest community volunteer events of the year. This year, it will be held at our own Campus Community Farm. Native Gift Making: Wood burning

Service-Learning Looking for a cultural experience? Join us for Native Gift Making. In this workshop you will experience Native American wood burning, cedar weaving and beading taught by local Snohomish tribal elders Mike Evans and Karen Condo. Learn the Blue Heron Canoe Family way of "make two gift one" towards Canoe Journey and hear teachings of modern and traditional ways of native beings.  -- Don't know what those things are? We are just the space for you. In the process you will experience first hand the 8 benefits of crafting: Lowers blood pressure. Confidence and enhanced self-esteem. Increases brain activity and cognition. Enhances quality of life. Small exercises can help dexterity. Boosts empathy.  Allows further self expression and understanding. Join for 15 minutes or 2 hours, completely up to you. Projects can be completed over multiple visits and in one session. Bring your friends by for a local cultural experience. Marine Trades Career Exploration and Job Fair (Hosted in Bellingham)

Career Action Center The Marine Trades Career Exploration and Job Fair is set to return to Bellingham’s Waterfront on Thursday, May 9 from 10 am to 1 pm at the Fishermen’s Pavilion (2559 S. One hour, 90 minutes, 203 minutes, amount of time you volunteer is up to you.  Help our community by volunteering as a "shopper" putting together orders for families in need.  The food bank is overwhelmed with orders to fill.  Families order on-line their list of food needs, and you take the easy-to-follow list, gather the items together, place in a shopping cart, then start again with a new list.   Improve your English reading skills while serving families in need. Service-Learning We are looking for volunteers to help out with a great community event.  Edmonds Parks and Recreation is seeking volunteers to help between the hours of 8am-2pm to help with setup and event activities. Volunteers should be prepared to interact with family crowds. Volunteer opportunities include set up and tear down, help vendors unload and load, registration for youth runs, course monitors and help at our obstacle course and garden booth. Our local community is coming together to promote health and fitness at the 2024 Edmonds Health & Fitness Expo. In this workshop you will experience Native American wood burning, cedar weaving and beading taught by local Snohomish tribal elders Mike Evans and Karen Condo. Learn the Blue Heron Canoe Family way of "make two gift one" towards Canoe Journey and hear teachings of modern and traditional ways of native beings.  -- Don't know what those things are? We are just the space for you. In the process you will experience first hand the 8 benefits of crafting: Lowers blood pressure. Confidence and enhanced self-esteem. Increases brain activity and cognition. Enhances quality of life. Small exercises can help dexterity. Boosts empathy.  Allows further self expression and understanding. One hour, 90 minutes, 203 minutes, amount of time you volunteer is up to you.  Help our community by volunteering as a "shopper" putting together orders for families in need.  The food bank is overwhelmed with orders to fill.  Families order on-line their list of food needs, and you take the easy-to-follow list, gather the items together, place in a shopping cart, then start again with a new list.   Improve your English reading skills while serving families in need. Learn how large-scale foodbank operations work.  Receive Service Learning hours. Service-Learning FLEXIBLE HOURS 9am-2pm is the window of time available. 60 minutes, 90 minutes, 203 minutes, amount of time you volunteer is up to you.  Help our local community by volunteering as a "shopper" putting together orders for families in need.  The food bank is overwhelmed with orders to fill.  Families order on-line their list of food needs, and you take the easy-to-follow list, gather the items together, place in a shopping cart, then start again with a new list.    Serving families in need while learning how large-scale foodbank operations work. Increase your physical strength, dexterity and listening skills.   Receive Service Learning hours.
