Student Volunteer Opportunity - E-waste, Shred, and Food Pantry Donation Event Sponsored by the Green Team

The Green Team is looking for volunteers for their upcoming e-waste recycling, shred, and food pantry donation event taking place Saturday, March 14th. This event is all about being a good community partner. By hosting this event, our community is allowed to dispose of their electronic waste in a sustainable, confidential manner which minimizes the harmful materials going into our landfills. We need your help to pull this off! Volunteers are needed for: Set up and tear down , Traffic control , Assisting community members unloading their electronics and documents.  , Helping the food pantry collect donations, The recycling event is sponsored by the Edmonds College Green Team, E-Waste, LLC, and the City of Lynnwood. Electronic Waste and Paper Shredding Event Recycling Free for TVs, computers, monitors, laptops, cell phones, game consoles, and tablets $5 fee for printers, VCRs, stereos, DVD players, speakers, and other small electronics Call 425-239-4118 to learn more about what items can be recycled. Paper Shredding Strict limit of four boxes per household. Due to the demand and limited capacity of the shred trucks we are enforcing a limit of an amount equal to four file boxes for shredding. Campus Community Farm Work Party

The Campus Community Farm is looking for volunteers to help us keep our student-run urban farm growing strong!   The Campus Community Farm is a vital part of the Edmonds College community, producing food for the Campus Food Pantry, providing research space for classes, and relies on volunteers like you to help us keep growing! Volunteers will help our Student Farmers with projects like weeding, harvesting, seeding, transplanting, and other farm maintenance (depending on the season). If you’re interested in volunteering with the Campus Farm, please sign up using the registration link. All skill levels welcome; gloves and tools will be provided; dress to work in the dirt and bring your reusable water bottle. The farm's location can be found on the campus map. It is number 3 on the map. *Please be advised there are honeybee hives located on the Campus Farm. If needed, please take any necessary precautions before coming to the Campus Farm*. The food pantry provides resources at the Olympic Building. Please enter on the east side of the Building.  Students and staff will be able to fill up a grocery bag of food and limited personal hygiene supplies. Please bring your PHYSICAL EdPass (photos or copies of your Edpass are not accepted).  Please note: Due to limited resources, you may visit the pantry once per week. Food Pantry resources are for students and staff who are dealing with food insecurity and are not meant to stock your shelves during this time. If you don't need this food, please consider leaving these resources for those who need it. Also, please check the local food banks listed at the bottom of the food pantry web page.
