Engineered Living Materials for the Built Environment: Interdisciplinary research driving material innovation
What if living organisms could help shape the buildings around us? This exhibition explores emerging advances in 3D printing that use specially designed microorganisms as building materials, offering new possibilities for sustainable design. Featuring work by researchers from the University of Washington, the University of Texas at Austin, and the University of California, Davis, the exhibition highlights collaborative research and student-led exploration into the future of the built environment. Nature and Health Community Dinner with Rachel Berney, PhD
Our quarterly community dinners welcome anyone with a curiosity about expanding access to green space to support health and well-being, environmental and health equity, people-nature reciprocity, and climate change resilience. Northwest Nature and Health Symposium
The UW Center for Nature and Health illuminates the connections between nature and human health and well-being. We work with community and decision-makers to translate our findings into programs and policies that ensure everyone can benefit from the healing power of nature.
