Today we're focusing on an Accessibility Tips for Presentations. Our working meetings will have the same structure each time: 15 minutes to learn; 30 minutes to practice; 15 to reflect. Improving Accessibility in Computing Courses: Open office hours

Drop-in (online via Zoom) office hours for computing instructors to talk through, co-design, or evaluate efforts to make computing course resources more accessible. Potential topics include broad overviews on digital accessibility, discuss auditing and remediation strategies for specific types of content (e.g. PDFs, websites, videos, math, diagrams), or co-develop a plan for implementing accessibility (for example, making a checklist, planning TA or staff trainings, or evaluating automated tools and their shortcomings). Course Accessibility Lunch & Learn: Does it really have to be a PDF? A chat about alternatives

You may have heard that PDFs are notoriously inaccessible, but what are the alternatives? In this month’s Lunch & Learn, ATS Documents Specialist Gaby de Jongh will join us to talk about several alternative options to PDFs. She’ll also offer some tips on best practices for those times when PDF seems to be the only option.  This will be a virtual event taking place on Zoom and captions will be enabled. This event is intended to be inclusive and accessible. A two-week timeframe is necessary to arrange for some accessibility needs. Race, Disability & Technology Initiative: Annual convening

Current and past grantees will discuss their research and community partnerships, and together we’ll brainstorm possible new topics and avenues of research.
