UW / UO Language Educator Summit | Strengthening language learning pathways with area studies
Please join us for our fall quarter UW/UO Summit. The topic will be "Strengthening language learning pathways with area studies".
This workshop presents methodologies and techniques for incorporating area and international studies into every post-secondary language classroom. Area studies are often greatly underutilized by educators as a means to foster meaningful student engagement with the target cultures as well as inspire long-term and in-country study which can lead to the development of important career pathways. You will leave the workshop with an understanding of the why’s and practical how to’s for more effectively integrating this linguistic and cultural content into your classrooms.
Presented by:
Guntis Šmidchens
