Title: Successes and Challenges in Implementing Low-Barrier Care: The Aurora/SHE and Engage Health Experience Speakers: Maria Corcoran, MD, MPH Dr. Maria Corcorran is an assistant professor in the division of Allergy and Infectious Diseases at the University of Washington. She is the medical director of Aurora Clinic, a community-based low barrier clinic focused on HIV prevention. Her research focuses on strategies for expanding low-barrier care to people who inject drugs. Jimmy Ma, MD, MS Dr. Jimmy Ma is an infectious diseases physician and the medical director of Engage Health Federal Way and Kent, two walk-in clinics focused on prevention and care of HIV, STIs, and substance use. REGISTER NOW!   4:00pm - 5:00pm, CFAR Seminar Speaker: Rachel Rutishauser, MD, PhD Title: Harnessing CD8+ T cells for HIV Cure: What Will it Take? Rachel Rutishauser, MD, PhD is an Infectious Disease physician-scientist and Associate Professor in the Division of Experimental Medicine at the University of California, San Francisco. For her PhD, she studied the regulation of virus-specific CD8+ T cell differentiation in mice with Dr. Susan Kaech at Yale. At UCSF, she completed her post-doctoral studies with Drs. Mike McCune and Peter Hunt, and established her independent lab in November, 2020. The Rutishauser laboratory uses high-dimensional single cell profiling and functional genomics approaches to understand the transcriptional and epigenetic regulation of HIV-specific CD8+ T cell exhaustion at the basic mechanistic level and in the context of HIV cure studies, including therapeutic vaccination and CAR-T cell therapy.
