Autistic Youth, Mental Health, and the Sociotechnical Shaping of Sociality

This is especially true among children, adolescents, and teens on the autism spectrum, who may discover unique opportunities for socializing, communicating, and expressing themselves through digital media, as well as encounter specific threats to their safety and privacy. These challenges can be compounded by heightened risks of anxiety, depression, eating disorders, and other co-occurring mental health conditions. Accessible Presentations workshop

Do you know how to present accessibly so that all people in the audience can understand your work? All presentations should be accessible presentations. Do you know core basics of disability studies and disability history, especially if you work with people with disabilities? If not, this workshop is for you. Presenting accessibly can be complicated if you are a novice. We know — we were once novices too!  In the first half, Avery will go over how to deliver an accessible slide show presentation, which is critical for everyone to increase the understandability of their content. , In the second half, Emma will cover basic disability studies history and concepts, which are critical to understand if you do work with people with disabilities.
