Faculty and course designers are invited to join an informal, friendly conversation about making online components of courses accessible to students with disabilities. Ask questions about accessibility and universal design for learning (UDL), hear colleagues’ ideas, and share what is working for your own courses!
Meetings are hosted by Mary-Colleen Jenkins, an instruction accessibility specialist with Accessible Technology Services (ATS). Mary-Colleen is a former UW instructor herself, so this is a great opportunity to discuss logistics and how to set priorities for improving course accessibility without feeling overwhelmed.

AI+Teaching Course: Using AI to Advance Learning
Registration Required.
This 4-week, fully online, asynchronous course is designed to explore evidence-based strategies that use generative AI, specifically UW’s version of Copilot, to advance student learning and support effective, efficient course design. Faculty from any UW campus are eligible to register.
Please note: This course will not focus on building AI-based tools (e.g. chatbots), or preventing or identifying students’ unauthorized use of AI.
This course includes weekly deadlines, but there are no required synchronous meetings. Certificate of completion available upon fulfillment of all course requirements. This pilot course is capped at 150. Enrollment will be on a first-come-first-serve basis.

The AI “No Prep” Book Club: Supporting Faculty with AI Through Community & Exploration

With the emergence of artificial intelligence, instructors are having to develop new AI literacies while at the same considering how to adjust their instructional practices accordingly. For many instructors, this can feel overwhelming and isolating. In this session, I will share a successful professional learning series I developed called the AI “No Prep” Book Club. This series offered a sustained approach to helping instructors build their AI knowledge and skills while concurrently building cross-disciplinary community with other instructors and staff. Participants will leave the session with tools for implementing an AI “No Prep” Book Club on their own campuses.

By the end of the webinar, participants will be able to: Explain the structure of the AI “No Prep” Book Club. , Describe the benefits of utilizing a book club approach for AI professional learning. , Plan how to implement the strategies learned at their own institutions.
