Cross Campus Collaborative (Cx3) Series Winter Event Tuesday, February 3, 2026  @4:00-6:00pm at Mary Gates Hall Room 171G Cx3 Information The CX3 Public Service Leadership Series is a quarterly, cross-campus initiative hosted by UW Partners Evans School of Public Policy & Governance, the Samuel E. Kelly Ethnic Cultural Center, and the Center for Education Leadership & Engagement. CX3 is designed to equip University of Washington students with the facilitation skills and collaborative mindsets needed to tackle complex societal challenges. Each quarter, we will host a 3-hour session for 50–60 University of Washington students from different academic practices to co-create innovative solutions, build networks, and practice the art of hosting large-scale dialogues. NextGen Civic Leader Badge Info Session [In-Person]

The Community Engagement and Leadership Education (CELE) Center, in partnership with the Evans School of Public Policy and Governance, is excited to announce the launch of the NextGen Civic Leader Badge!  We are looking for students from all majors/disciplines who are interested in demonstrating their commitment to the public good by documenting their civic health actions and practicing reflection on the impact of their good works. The NextGen Civic Leader Badge serves as a visible demonstration of commitment to civic leadership. Students that complete the badge will receive special recognition and be able to display the digital badge on their resume and as part of their online presence.    Students interested in pursuing the NextGen Civic Leader Badge can get an introduction to the process and answers to their questions at upcoming information sessions. Resisting Authoritarianism Here and Abroad: Blue City Blues with Anne Applebaum

Join Blue City Blues for a conversation with Pulitzer Prize-winning journalist and historian Anne Applebaum, as she addresses the escalating global threats to democratic institutions and explores pragmatic strategies to counter the rise of authoritarianism. Drawing on her extensive research, Applebaum will discuss findings from her critically acclaimed works, including Twilight of Democracy: The Seductive Lure of Authoritarianism and her latest book, Autocracy, Inc. offering insight into how free societies can prevent the worst-case scenarios now unfolding across the world.
