WA State Syringe Services Program Health Survey - 2023 Results

Involving people who use drugs in meaningful ways to design and deliver the services offered to them is important. People who use drugs have clear preferences, insights, and innovative ideas for service models and are eager to share their perspectives when given genuine opportunities for input and involvement! To capture some of that vital information, the WA State Syringe Services Program Health Survey is conducted every other year by UW ADAI CEDEER in partnership with Public Health-Seattle & King County, the WA Dept of Health, and syringe services programs across the state. The surveys asks participants about their substance use, health behaviors, and health care and substance use treatment needs. This year’s survey was conducted from November 2023-January 2024; 1,667 surveys were completed. Read the SSP survey results report here! Join report co-authors Caleb Banta-Green and Alison Newman from ADAI on May 2 to hear more about the report and what they learned from participants in the 2023 survey! Third Space Toolkit: Building Space for Telehealth in Libraries and the Community

Presented by: Rachael Masaitis (Idaho DHW) and Mitch Doig & Erinn McGraw (UW ADAI),   Telehealth has become more common in the healthcare world, but not everyone has access to the technology needed to use it. In Idaho, the Department of Health and Welfare led an initiative to create telehealth pods in libraries and other community spaces to help expand access to care and worked to provide funding, technical assistance, and other supports.   In an effort to support these libraries and other telehealth access sites, the Center for Advancing Addiction Health Services (CAAHS) at the UW Addictions, Drug & Alcohol Institute (ADAI) has developed a free online toolkit with the goal of providing information that is crucial to providing safe, supportive, and accessible spaces in community settings where telehealth can be accessed.   Though the toolkit is targeted at libraries implementing telehealth spaces, it can also provide useful information for clinicians who provide telehealth services and have clients who may… Event interval: Single day event.
