English Conversation Practice Hour

The UW LLC English Conversation Practice Hours are currently held during winter quarter once per week. All members of the UW community are encouraged to attend: Undergraduate Students , Graduate Students , Staff , Faculty, Students will practice in small groups, with discussions and practice activities guided by an English speaker. We will do our best to accommodate the diverse interests of the attendees. This is a great opportunity to connect, learn, and grow within our diverse language-learning community. We recognize that although there are reasons to develop English language competencies, the many languages and dialects spoken by our community are of vital importance as well. The goal for these sessions will be to help improve communication skills and comfort when speaking, but not to pressure individuals into adopting a “standard” form of English. Let's Talk: Drop-in Counseling

Let’s Talk is a program that connects UW students both virtually and in person with support from experienced mental health counselors from the Counseling Center without an appointment. Let’s Talk offers informal consultation – it is not a substitute for regular therapy, counseling or psychiatric care. Mental health counselors hold drop-in hours via videoconference and in-person to provide insight, solutions and information about other resources. Let’s Talk drop-in visits are free, and confidential and no appointment necessary. We also have dedicated Let’s Talk times if you are needing assistance finding an off-campus provider or if you are a survivor or an international student looking for support.
