"Bermuda Through My Palette" | July 3 – August 15, 2026
Key Dates:
Opening Reception: Friday, July 3 | 5:30 – 7pm
Artist Talk: Thursday, July 9 | 5:30 – 7pm
Exhibition Dates: July 3 - August 15, 2026
Opening on Friday, July 3, Bermuda Through My Palette captures Michele Smith’s distinct style, showcasing the essence of Bermuda with bold and colourful brushstrokes. Her works have been displayed in numerous art shows, and she was selected as one of 12 artists to provide a large-scale piece for Bermuda’s airport departure lounge in 2019.
Combining layers of acrylic or oil paints, she enjoys building with colour and texture in an impressionistic form, most recently using a palette knife combined with large brushes. Her watercolour studies provide loose plein air scenes in which she builds her larger pieces.
‘Bermuda’s unique light, shadow and colour is intrinsic in my work, and each piece represents a different time, feeling and energy.‘ – Michele Smith.

Come As You Are: The Sapphire Veil
Join Skye for a Sound bowl offering at Devils Hole Grotto; an almost landlocked lagoon. Devils Hole was Bermuda's first natural aquarium, connected to the ocean by a tidal underwater passage.
The Sapphire Veil is a space to receive soft vibrations from Sound Bowls while we watch the sky shift into dusk, as the moon and stars rise. We will listen to the natural frequencies of Crystal Singing bowls and nature's orchestra of tree frogs and crickets.
Come to visit the ancient turtles that glide amongst the tides, and enjoy some tea and turtle feeding around the lagoon as darkness falls over this beautiful space.
Includes:
Tea
Provided food for Turtle feeding
Restrooms on site
What are Sound Bowls?:
Singing bowls are sound healing instruments; made from quartz crystal (heated at high temperatures to form a bowl) or made from metals such as bronze or brass. Crystal singing bowls emit a clear and resonant sound that carries smoothly over water and metal bowls are used commonly in body work.

Join us on Thursday, July 9, for an Artist Talk with exhibiting artist Michele Smith. We’ll explore the works featured in "Bermuda Through My Palette" and offer insight into Smith’s techniques and creative practice. Enjoy an open, engaging dialogue and a deeper look into her process.
About the exhibition: Smith’s distinct style captures the essence of Bermuda with bold and colourful brushstrokes.

Visions of the Vernacular: Architecture in the Masterworks Collection
May 2 – September 12, 2026

What are Sound Bowls?:
Singing bowls are sound healing instruments; made from quartz crystal (heated at high temperatures to form a bowl) or made from metals such as bronze or brass. Crystal singing bowls emit a clear and resonant sound that carries smoothly over water and metal bowls are used commonly in body work.

Visions of the Vernacular: Architecture in the Masterworks Collection
May 2 – September 12, 2026
Architecture is a crucial component of what makes Bermuda so historically and visually unique. Throughout the Island’s modern history, local and visiting artists have reflected this by foregrounding Bermuda’s architectural vernacular as a subject in their work – studying, celebrating, and re-interpreting its forms. Visions of the Vernacular: Architecture in the Masterworks Collection presents selected works of art from the Permanent Collection, dating from the early nineteenth century to the present day, which illustrate the distinctive character of Bermuda houses and the Island’s broader built landscape.

Visions of the Vernacular: Architecture in the Masterworks Collection
May 2 – September 12, 2026

Visions of the Vernacular: Architecture in the Masterworks Collection presents selected works of art from the Permanent Collection, dating from the early nineteenth century to the present day, which illustrate the distinctive character of Bermuda houses and the Island’s broader built landscape.
