Positive Education: Transforming Teacher Training
Sage is the first college in the nation to partner with The Center for Positive Education, ensuring our Esteves School of Education graduates are trained in the philosophy and tools of Positive Education. Positive Education emphasizes principles of Positive Psychology, focusing on teaching a mindset that develops academic tenacity while building emotional and social well-being. It has been shown to improve students’ ability to engage in learning and reduce teacher burnout.

A Great Power for Good: Founding Vision Lived in Service Learning Commitment
Beyond all the good work in the classroom, Sage is a great power for good in the community because of our focus on service learning. Our Sage students and Ali Schaeffing, director of service learning and community engagement and an assistant professor of geography, will share some of the incredible service learning projects Sage has engaged in and talk about how they are transformative as an educational experience and for our community members in need.
