Hop, Skip, Spring walk

Parks and Recreation Hop on over ... Join us for a free and fun walk around the loop at Gallup Park (3000 Fuller Road). Free but you must register in advance to attend. Participants can bring a basket and travel the path, stopping along the way to meet volunteers dressed as different animals. Each volunteer will invite participants to complete a quick, playful challenge, such as hopping like a bunny, twirling in a circle, or trying a short hula hoop spin. After completing the task, participants will receive a small treat or toy before continuing along the route. When participants finish the loop, they can enjoy a simple craft activity, take a photo with Hopps the Bunny and visit with real bunnies on site. Turtle Steward Training/Kick-off

Parks and Recreation Help NAP search for turtles and maintain nesting habitat! At least 6 species of turtles live and nest in the city, maybe more. Volunteers may maintain and protect nest sites, monitor populations, and look for turtles in habitats along the Huron River and nearby waters. We’ll help you learn species identification, nest maintenance and monitoring, and how to report your turtle observations. And yes, you can survey for turtles while paddling down the river on a sunny morning! Open to anyone who can look for turtles. Suitable for families. Surveys can be done from shore or on the water. This training is indoors at the Ann Arbor Senior Center, no special materials or gear needed. It will be recorded, but in-person attendance is strongly recommended. Sustainability and Innovations Returning for its fourth year, this year’s annual Climate Teach-In will be Sunday, April 25. This free event provides residents the opportunity to learn not only from local sustainability leaders but other community members as they create and innovate climate solutions. These are a perfect way to give your gently used clothes a new home. And you might just find an item of clothing you have been looking for, without having to buy it new. How it works: Each person can bring up to 5 items of clothing in good condition (no rips, holes, stains, or unwashed items please!). Accessories are also welcome.
