Last day to approve Reinstatement Requests for Autumn 2025
Students may submit a request no later than the last day of instruction of the quarter.
Students must submit the $250 fee no later than 11:59 pm PST on the last day of instruction to be reinstated for the requested academic quarter.
Departments are asked to check their MyGrad Program Reinstatement Request list for any last-minute requests that can be approved to give adequate time for students to log back in and finalize payment.

Last day to approve Leave Requests for Autumn 2025
Students may submit a request for on-leave status as late as the week before instruction ends (December 5th, 2025). Students must submit payment for approved on-leave no later than 5:00 pm PST. If they miss the deadline, they will be required to reinstate.
Departments are asked to check their MyGrad Program Leave Requests list for any last-minute requests that can be approved for students to have adequate time to log in and make the payment in order to finalize their leave status.

Graduation (Priority): First Day to submit degree recommendations for Autumn 2025 graduation
First day to submit degree recommendations for priority graduation. Priority graduation begins the day after grades are posted to the UW transcript (the day after the quarterly grade deadline).
GPAs/GPCs should only recommend those students whose degree audit shows that all degree requirements have been completed. Recommendations for students whose degree audit show incomplete degree requirements will be returned to the department or postponed for graduation processing.
If a GPA/GPC needs assistance troubleshooting a student's degree audit, they should review the help files posted to the GEMS Blog for Advisors or Request a GEMS Appointment. GPAs/GPCs are strongly encouraged to reach out to GEMS early to receive graduation training and/or resolve degree audit issues.

Graduation (Final): Last day to submit degree recommendations for Autumn 2025 graduation
In order to ensure the timely graduation of UW graduate students and so that Graduation and Academic Records (GARS) is not delayed in placing a diploma order for all UW students, this is the last day departments may submit degree recommendations for the previous quarter.
If departments are unable to submit all degree recommendations by 5:00 p.m. they must contact Graduate Enrollment Management Services (GEMS) at gemshelp@uw.edu to request manual processing of graduation.

Admissions: Last Day for Deferrals & Early Entry
The day official instruction begins is the deadline to submit Deferral and Early Entry Petitions for that quarter in Slate. This deadline is set to allow for sufficient time to move the Enrollment Confirmation Deposit (ECD) associated with an application before UW Census Day. Defer: admitted for that quarter and deferring to a future quarter. See GEMS Graduate Advisor Guide for policies and procedures.

Admissions: Last Day to Convey Decisions for Winter 2026
The sixth day of instruction for each quarter is the deadline to complete the following actions in Slate: Convey Decisions for all of that quarter’s applications, including decisions for late applications.
>Applicants without decisions are automatically changed to “Denied” status after the eighth day of the quarter. , Submit admission petition to Change Offer Accepted to Declined Confirmed Status (Applicant Paid ECD but will not attend)
