EDGE Session 2: Educating, Supervising, and Innovating with AI for GME Learners
As artificial intelligence becomes increasingly integrated into healthcare, educators must be prepared to guide learners in the effective, responsible, and ethical use of these tools. This session will provide practical insights into the evolving role of AI in graduate medical education, including how to teach foundational AI concepts, supervise the use of AI-enabled clinical tools, and leverage emerging innovations to enhance learning and assessment.
In this presentation, attendees will explore how to:
Describe why AI matters in medicine and the implications for graduate medical education. Identify foundational AI concepts and competencies that faculty and trainees should understand. Consider strategies for incorporating AI into curricula and supervising AI-enabled clinical tools. Explore emerging opportunities to use AI for assessment, feedback, and educational innovation.
