The Detour: Leading from Your Strengths

Innovators have to wear a bunch of different hats. We are often running lean and teaching ourselves how to do what needs to get done as we go along. This makes us versatile, scrappy, and competent. It also stretches us thin and can create gaps. What if we could lead from our strengths? What if, instead of being well rounded, we assembled well-rounded teams?    Kate Hilderbrandt, Innovation and Learning Manager for The Carter Center, is coming to The Detour show us how to do exactly that.  Here is what we promise: -           Clarity: You will leave The Detour with at least one clear action step you can take to do more of your work aligned with your strengths  -           Community: You will meet and have meaningful conversations with innovative leaders like you to learn from and lean on each other The Detour will kick off 3/13, from 9-10:30am (coffee and snacks included) at The Hatchery. If you are ready to lead from your true strengths, click here to RSVP. University Event Topic: Innovation & Entrepreneurship. Department / Organization: The Hatchery, Emory Center for Innovation. The Detour: Putting Your Audience Journey on The Map

As Innovators, we know that understanding our audience and their experiences is key to our success. However, it can be easy to focus too narrowly on a slice of that experience at the expense of understanding the full picture. Users may have many steps before, and after, we meet them that will greatly influence how they interact with our own products or services.  This leaves so much opportunity on the table.  The Detour has asked Jon Eggleton, Co-Founder of Traktion Partners, to help us use Journey Mapping for a complete picture of our audience's end-to-end experience. At Traktion, Jon and his team work with clients in the Healthcare Industry to map complex patient journeys, which serves to both improve their patient experiences while providing greater visibility internally. He will be sharing how this process can unlock new ways to serve and communicate with users, regardless of your industry. Here is what we promise: -           Clarity: You will leave The Detour with at least one clear action step you ca… University Event Topic: Innovation & Entrepreneurship. The Detour: What Even is an Insight?

You've just read an article about the latest viral trend or your favorite podcaster just laid out their new strategic framework or you just got a strong piece of feedback from a customer you have never heard before. What are you going to do about that? Should you do anything about that? Don't you have enough to do already? Is it lunch time yet?  The Detour has asked Tommy Pearce, Executive Director of Neighborhood Nexus, to help us build a system to cut through the noise of fads and "data" and determine what insights are actually important an actionable. Here is what we promise: -           Clarity: You will leave The Detour with at least one clear action step you can take to be an insight driven leader -           Community: You will meet and have meaningful conversations with innovative leaders like you to learn from and lean on each other The Detour will kick off 5/15, from 9-10:30am (coffee and snacks included) at The Hatchery.
