A snapshot is a summary of how Trumba Connect helps an organization realize its website strategy goals.

Goals

• In an active department with six areas of research, keeping students, faculty, staff, and alumni informed about colloquia, seminars, and administrative events.
• Promoting upcoming events throughout the site to make it easier for site visitors to stay informed.
• Simplifying the process of keeping event information up to date.

Solution

• Implemented Trumba Connect and embedded a calendar and other event widgets into the Home and News and Events pages of the website.
• Using the intuitive editing environment, developed a convenient process for managing multiple calendars and updating events.
• Embedded an upcoming events widget into the Home page that automatically displays the next three upcoming events from the comprehensive departmental calendar.
• Embedded control widgets next to the calendar to allow visitors to filter events by research area, quickly navigate to events that occur on a specific date, and choose the event display format they prefer (for example, classic Month versus List).
• Benefited from Add to My Calendar and other event actions built in to every published calendar.

Outcome

• No delays or backups in posting new or updated events to the website. Site visitors always see the latest event information.
• Students, faculty, staff, and alumni have one central place where they can find current information about all departmental events.
• Calendar visitors can easily limit events to specific research areas they care about.
• Calendar visitors can add events to their personal calendars, set event reminders, arrange to be notified if events change, and take other event actions that make them more likely to remember to attend events.
• With a quick glance at the Home page, site visitors know what’s coming up in the near future.
